DISTRICT GRAND LODGE OF KWA-ZULU NATAL

Founded May 1897

In 1736 the Grand lodge of Scotland formalized into a Constitution of Antient Free and Accepted Masons. They became the governing body of Freemasonry in Scotland. Over the years Scottish Masons resettled in other countries around the world and began petitioning The Grand Lodge to open new Lodges within the countries they now reside. In May of 1897 after a number of charters were issued to Natal, The District Grand Lodge of Kwa-Zulu Natal was formed to provide local governance of the Lodges under it jurisdiction on behalf of the Grand Lodge of Scotland.

At Present the District Grand Lodge of Kwa-Zulu Natal oversees the operation of 11 Active Lodge within the Province of Kwa-Zulu Natal.
